Adobe Online Creative Festival presentation source files
During yesterday’s online festival, I promised to upload the source files from both my “Adobe Flash and Adobe AIR” presentation and also my “Flash – Video Effects” tips and tricks session.
First the AIR and Flash presentation. As I mentioned during the presentation the place to start is to go to the AIR developers section of the Adobe website and click on the Adobe Flash developers button. From this page you can download the update for Flash CS3 Proffesional that adds the resources necessary to develop AIR apps in Flash and a link to the Developer Center for AIR in Flash. The other page I mentioned in the presentation was the Quick Start page which has a range of source files you can download to get started.
During the presentation I also showed a few apps I built myself to get you started with the features. One was the NativeWindow and Menu example. This is a simple example of how to control a native window and also add system menus to your AIR app. The other file I showed was Melissa that is already available with the source files from this blog and also shows an implementation of the AIR badge. I also mentioned the Fireworks extension to quickly build the icons needed for AIR apps which is also covered in an earlier blog post.
Now to the Video Effects in Flash tips and tricks session. I have provided the source files for the more difficult effects. Some of them are still in AS2 (sorry for that but I built them a while ago) but you can easily update them as needed. The files available are:
These files are provided ‘as is’ and I am not able to provide support for them so please don’t ask. Have fun with them and hopefully they will help you get started.

I couldn’t download Video effects in Flash files 3, 4 or 5. Not available or couldn’t be found. 1 and 2 downloaded no problem.
Thanks for a fascinating presentation, though I lost my net connection part way through!
Cheers, Kevin
