Reminiscing – Adobe – Macromedia and even MacroMind Part 3
Well, this is the 3rd post on this and I think I have finally posted all the old pics etc I could find. Back to real work after this…lots of great memories but it has just made me feel old ;-)
Setting up for DMW 97 in Melbourne at the Macromedia stand – notice the old Macromedia logo. The second pic is of my kids towards the end of the day…
Up til then we seemed to do mostly Expos and Conferences as this was their hey day. After this the tours started big time.

The next few pics are from the APAC MediaWave tour in 97. The first is of the audience in Beijing and the second is of me (with hair) in the restaurant at the top of Shanghai Tower (now with the new Macromedia logo on my shirt).

During the tours we sometimes had a bit of a chance to look around. Here with Allen Lau and Brian Chau in Tienanmen Square.

And these ones on the Great Wall of China at a place called Badaling.

These ones are a few years later. the first is the launch of Flash 5 in Taiwan where the attendance was so large we had to do a second show at the last minute. People waited outside for 2 hours while we did the first show, cleared the auditorium and then sat through the second presentation. The second one is from a day trip to the Taj Mahal during the same tour.

Hehe these last 2 pics are probably my favorites from this time. The first is John Schuman in the Singapore office as we were preparing for a tour. Note the 4 laptops on the desk as we set each one up. This was when we each carried both a Mac and PC laptop with us on tour.
The last pic is of a whole bunch from Macromedia climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge during one of the APAC UCON Conferences. I can’t remember all the names (I apologize and if you can then please help me out).
update – thank you Eric for the additional names!
The names I remember (with Eric’s additions) are (left to right) Eric Whitman, Mike Edwards, Doug W, Steve Cherneff, Mark Strassman, Greg Rewis, Michelle Perkins, Me, Sandy Abram, x, and John Schuman. As I mentioned in an earlier post, after the climb we stood on the roof of a pub near the bridge and drank and told jokes for hours.

Anyway, enough of reminiscing… Back to work.

Wow, not sure how I’m just running into this now but thanks for putting this together. Brought some amazing memories back.
Btw- in the photo next to me is Mike Edwards, Doug W, Steve Cherneff (still at Adobe) and Mark Strassman (now at Autodesk). I forget the last x as he was the Authorware Product Manager at the time. If I remember I’ll submit it.
Cheers!
Eric
