April 3rd, 2010

Flash DownunderThe sixth episode in my new series of Flash Downunder is now live. This series looks at some of the advanced features of building AIR applications with Flash Professional.

This episode looks at how to use EncryptedLocalStore in your Adobe AIR app to store binary data such as images or even user preferences.

The source files for this episode are in an earlier blog post so you can download them and grab the code.

LOL – as an added note – I just received a comment on this video by someone who was concerned by my pronunciation of certain words. I haven’t posted the comment as the email and name were bogus, but his/her suggestion was that I should type the following words – ‘boolean’, ‘beta’ and ‘here’ into TextEdit and use the text to speech feature to learn to pronounce the words as they NEED to be pronounced.
Whoever you were, welcome to the big wide world. I am Australian and we pronounce some things differently. (btw TextEdit uses North American pronunciation by default – that’s probably were you got confused). There are a lot of countries out there and a whole range of pronunciations. Stick with it, I am sure you will get the hang of it!
